Current and Future Work

Current Work

The post-excavation for the Field School continues with headway being made on the complex stratigraphy, finds processing, and finds analysis.

Any completed reports will be uploaded into the reports section of this website.

Future Aspirations

In the future we hope to be able to conduct further research on the buried archaeological remains along the top of the cliff using intrusive and non-intrusive methods. Some of our aims include:

- joining up the Field School excavation with the A Town Unearthed excavation

- investigating Jock's Pitch to the south of the Villa

- possibly reopening the Villa and extending the excavation to the wider area

Volunteering Opportunities

We are not recruiting volunteers at this current time.

Future opportunities will be advertised through the East Wear Bay Project Facebook page and on this website.
